What To Expect From a Camera Inspection

When your highly qualified inspection technician arrives at your home, he will greet you and and ask where an accessible cleanout is located.  Sometimes, locating these can be a chore, but rest assured, your camera technician will find a good place to start their camera.

What is a Sewer Inspection Camera?

A sewer inspection camera is a specialized camera made to take videos and still-shots of sewer pipes within a very harsh environment.  These cameras are made to take the abuse these harsh conditions provide while gathering information as to the condition of the sewer system being inspected.

The camera is mounted on the end of what appears to be a cable of sorts.  This cable looks similar to a sewer snake.  The only real difference is that on the sewer camera, the camera is mounted where a snake cutter would be mounted.

The camera is let into the sewer drain line while videoing is occurring.  This inspection will note where problem areas and other deficiencies are located, how detrimental they are, and at what depth and direction these problem areas lie.

Sewer inspection screen shows what the inside of a typical sewer line looks like. Shown to homeowners, this inspection can reveal problem areas within the side sewer system.  These sewer inspections are especially effective for revealing problem areas with Orangeburg pipe.

When the sewer inspection is completed, the sewer camera technician will go over the results with you and give you a copy of the report.  Sometimes these camera inspection reports are emailed or texted to you.
